THE ST. PETERSBURG INSTITUTE FOR CULTURAL PROGRAMS

The Institute for Cultural Programs of the City of St. Petersburg was established in 1993 by order of the Mayor's Office and the St. Petersburg City Council. Created in response to social demand for cultural enlightenment, information and education, the Institute is a non-profit municipal organization which receives its funding from the city budget and federal and foreign grants.

Chief among the Institute's objectives is the creation of the image of St. Petersburg as a world center of culture, art, and tourism.To this end, the Institute actively seeks partnerships with Russian and international business and governments to create and sustain local, regional, national and international cultural programs. It also provides informational services, public relations assistance and educational courses in diverse subjects such as computer literacy, community relations and the English-language.
