The Institute for Cultural Programs has functioned as an arts and cultural information center since 1994. ICP assembles, systematizes, and disseminates information using modern information technology. ICP maintains databases which feature extensive information on arts and cultural organizations, regardless of their form of ownership and/or administration.
Included among these databases are:

Contemporary St. Petersburg Art
Contemporary St. Petersburg Theater
St. Petersburg Cultural Societies
St. Petersburg Libraries
St. Petersburg Museums
Contemporary St. Petersburg Music

The Institute regularly provides information about cultural events for numerous English language publications, including Pulse, The St. Petersburg Times, and Blue Wings, as well as prominent St. Petersburg Russian language newspapers. Similar information is also released through agencies, radio, and television. ICP also compiles the following booklets, which are available both electronically and in print:

The Institute is participating in the creation of several websites designed to distribute information about cultural, business, and arts activities in St. Petersburg:

ICP is also taking part in the development of "Saint Petersburg: 1703-2003," (http://www.300.spb.ru) a website that includes all information about the upcoming celebration of the 300th anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg.
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

The educational activities of the Institute for Cultural Programs are directed toward the preparation of highly qualified specialists to meet rising demand in the rapidly growing economic sector of culture, arts and tourism. In 1999, ICP organized educational courses for some 400 employees in the cultural sphere, such as administrators of theaters and concert organizations, director of cinemas, museum and children's libraries, public relations specialists, etc. As a member of the European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centers, the Institute takes an active role in international educational programs, symposiums and conferences. It also cooperates closely with national and local educational centers.
